                                             Beehive Lake

Beehive Lake was inspired by a trip to Big Sky, Montana in the fall of 2006.

Beehive Lake is found at the end of a nicely strenuous hike, through beautifully wooded hills and mountain meadows, mostly uphill, to Beehive Basin, which is surrounded by mountains on three sides, and has a long view out the fourth to the lower hills below and the Gallatin mountains in the far distance.

This print shows that view, across the small lake which is sheltered by the mountains and usually has a surface of glass.
