Black Spruce in Autumn III
This is a fall scene from the hills and lakes to the east of Lake Superior known as Algoma country. It's my woodblock interpretation of an oil painting by the Canadian Group of Seven artist, Tom Thomson. This is a reduction print; all colors printed from one block.
12" x 15"; Edition of 24.
A view of Central Park in New York. A late-spring snow fell and brightened the park for a day. Also a reduction print - everything printed from one block.
5.875" x 7.5"; Edition of 15.
Minnesota's north shore of Lake Superior has many rivers and streams feeding into it and along those rivers are many falls. This print is after one of the falls along the Cascade River in autumn. It's a one-block print with watercolor.
5.5" x 4"; Edition of 24.
A sometimes common sight on northern lakes, but always spectacular. Constantly changing and moving, it's very hard to look away from the northern lights and often the only thing that will cause you to close your eyes is exhaustion and sleep. This is another reduction print - printed from one block.
8" x 9.75"; Edition of 24
Calm Before the Storm
A sense of stillness and foreboding settles in as dark clouds build and the air gets heavy. Thunder grows louder in the not-so-distance. Canoeists paddle with a sense of urgency to get back to camp before the storm hits. They've almost made it.
5.5" x 8.25"; Edition of 12; $240.
