The image is of an Eastern White Pine in late December. It’s found in Interstate State Park on a small cliff next to the St Croix River. The Park extends to both the Minnesota and Wisconsin sides of the St Croix.

The St Croix River was extensively used for logging purposes in the 19th century sometimes causing huge log jams in the vicinity of Interstate SP and further south to Stillwater.
